If you aren’t familiar with John Vanderslice, he started an all-analog recording studio in San Fran that has been used by Death Cab for Cutie, Spoon, and Okkervil River. He has also produced music for Spoon and The Mountain Goats.
Vanderslice’s seventh album Romanian Names is due May 19th via Dead Oceans. Here is the first song (that I’ve heard) from the album. The album is full of short, melody-focused songs about the difficulties about being in love and being in a relationship. At 3:57, this is the longest song on the album. Thanks to Stereogum.
