I saw some people talking about this in the shoutbox and the high quality version just came out so I decided to throw it up. Big Sean definitely sounds nice over this “Lemonade” beat. He’s got the kind of voice and character that shines, but I have a couple reservations about him.
He says a lot of the same stuff that everyone else says. You know, talking about his “retarded” flow, talking about “brain” simultaneously in terms of education and getting your dick sucked, and doing that thing Drake made popular lately by saying a phrase and then finishing it with a one word punchline. Example: “Swimmin’ in the money, come and find me…Nemo”.
Again, he sounds pretty nice doing it, so I’m not complaining. There are always new trends in music and I don’t think there is anything wrong with incorporating what’s hot right now into your music, but that can’t be your only trick. I like to see at least one thing that makes an artist unique in some way, and I haven’t seen that in Big Sean yet. Not saying it’s not there, but I haven’t seen it yet.
Sidenote: I really liked the chorus in Gucci’s version of this song. If he would’ve left that in there this would have made it to my iTunes.

I DONT NORMALLY COMMENT ON ANYTHING ON THE WEB EVER…BUT THE WORLD MUST KNOW THE ONE WORD PUNCHLINE WAS INVENTED BY BIG SEAN . THE “SUPA DUPA PUNCHLINE FORMAT ” FOR LACK OF A BETTER TERM HAS BEEN STOLEN BY MANY WHOM I WILL NOT MENTION FOR PROFFESIONAL REASONS.BIG SEAN IS ONE OF MY CLOSEST FRIENDS BUT EVEN IF HE WASN’T HE SHOULD BE CREDITED WITH THE INVENTION OF THAT RHYME SCHEME… CREDIT SHOULD BE GIVEN WHERE CREDIT IS DUE… AND YES I AM THE “PAT PIFF”.
