New! Freeway & Jake-One – "One Thing" ft. Raekwon

Say what you will about Freeway. He’s been around for a long ass time, and we’ve heard him in many different contexts, but in my opinion he’s never really lived up to his potential. But this feels right. This upcoming Rhymesayers release The Stimulus Package teams him up with producer Jake One. Instead of trying to go over gigantic, flashy beats, playing the role of the wild background goon, or just yelling verses over recent instrumentals, Freeway shines over these gritty beats with a little soul and a lot of bounce. It’s been a long time coming, but I think Freeway is on to something here.
