Despite the buzz they’ve built up, I’ve been ignoring this band for a while, solely because of their name. I felt that the market was saturated with band names involving some form of the word “surf”. But ignoring this band is getting more difficult each day. Positive reviews for the Florida band’s debut album Astro Coast have been piling up, P&P friend DJ Lil’ El recommended them to me, and I’m afraid if I don’t give them a listen soon, Surfer Blood themselves will show up at my door with weapons and headphones.
So this is what I’ll be listening to tonight. Based on what I’ve heard (and the name) I expect echoed layers of vocals, fuzzy guitar work, and some solid pop rock structure.

I feel you though, I hate when I dismiss a band/artist to later find out that they’re awesome.
Surfing is one of my favorite sports eventhough i got a bad accident last year because of very high surfs.-“
