Here’s the new mini mixtape (7 new songs) from Chiddy Bang – thanks to sdodge for the heads up. After their first taste of success with Swelly Express, it was hard to determine the future for these guys. It was easy to see that their talent and potential could lead to a great future, but some were left with the feeling that this couldn’t be matched, and Chiddy’s big bang start was setting them up to be disappointments. Those people could not have been more wrong. If anything, Chiddy is showing steady improvement with this one. They have a good grasp on their strengths, and they’ve held onto those strengths, polished them a bit, and they’re coming back at their best. Xaphoon Jones’ production is nuts. This guy, Xaphoon Jones, he is ridiculously talented. His mixtape had one of the best mashups I’ve ever heard, crossed MGMT and Bob Marley and made it sound like it should always have been that way. Expect huge things in the future.
Agreed…I’ve been listening to Chiddy Bang and Xaphoon since July 2009. And the fact that I remember what month in what year I first heard of them should be evidence of how insane they are. Guaranteed: Chiddy Bang will have a number 1 hit single within the next two years, probably sooner.
as much as I love these guys, it’s ridiculous to guarentee a #1 single, they really don’t have that pop appeal yet. And on the Xaphoon tape, I thought everything was great beside that song, so cliche to do a MGMT/Bob marley mash-up, it really bored me. This new tape is great though, I love listening to the progress

Over here in the UK they sold 100k copies of a single. That’s a ton for a rap group releasing their first material.
We had them at our party, great guys, super talented. I agree with Landon, a number 1 single is definitely in their grasp.
I fully agree with will and landon.. These mixtapes and songs are truly epic.. They have a great sense of musi and talent and They will for sure be able to achieve a number one single with thier unique style of rap and sound…
