CocoRosie – "Lemonade"

cocorosie 490x500 CocoRosie "Lemonade"

CocoRosie is not for everyone, but if you’re looking for something that is a little weird, quirky, and harder to swallow than…nevermind, check out this new song. “Lemonade” is a beautifully strange pop/freak folk song with soft vocals and a breezy melody. Give it a couple listens before trying to make up your mind, because it will take at least that long to understand what is going on unless you’re familiar with the sisters’ work. I am really liking this one. It is the first single off the upcoming Grey Oceans.

UPDATE: What do you guys think of this? Usually, when I post something I have some idea of how P&P frequenters will respond to it, but this is one of the artists that I have no idea about. Do you like CocoRosie?

Not a huge fan of this particular CocoRosie song off Grey Oceans. The front end of the cd is much better than the back. Definitely enjoy their stuff though.

I like this a lot. Its like Bjork and Hanne Hukkelberg did a duet. Fans of either would love this

My ex girlfriend loved CocoRosie but I can’t get into them. The solo work of the members is incredible but There music together sucks in my opinion. Just not my thing i guess

I enjoy it. I find it very sombre and chilling but with a catchy choruse. However I always find myself wondering if I’m missing something by not looking or otherwise understanding a deeper meaning to some of their lyrics.
