Sunglasses have been buzzing for a while, but if you haven’t heard them, now is the perfect time to start listening. This is summer pop on acid, spread out on a checkerboard picnic blanket and splashed with sun. Like Animal Collective but more sloppy, sometimes more funky, and slightly less complicated, the art school duo from Georgia constructs quirky, layered pop music with a focus on wavering melodies that swell up and then burst into new melodies. Really cool stuff. Since I’m a little late on these guys, here’s the new single “Stand Fast”, plus two of their earlier singles. Thanks to IGIF.
