Unreleased! Kanye West – Home

kanyewestmacys 500x474 Unreleased! Kanye West Home

Someone shot me an email today asking if I had this track, an early version of what turned out to be Kanye West‘s “Homecoming”. I don’t think “Homecoming” (the Graduation joint with Chris Martin from Coldplay) turned out bad, but this earlier cut with John Legend on the hook is so soulful and probably still one of my favorite Kanye songs to date. I figured I’d share with you all.

Thanks for the heads up. I see Midas already corrected me. Shouts to Midas that kid is good!

This was on Kanye’s Freshman Adjustment Mixtape, too

  4. furrysnatch says:

    this isn’t unreleased.

  5. Confusion says:

When I say unreleased I mean that it wasn’t on an official album. Every song has been released in some way whether it be the internet or mixtapes.

  6. Rob says:

So I guess a lot more songs you post should be labeled unreleased, no? like every mixtape track?

  7. Confusion says:

It depends what you’re talking about. Kanye doesn’t put out mixtapes like a lot of rappers do. When Wiz Khalifa or Curren$y drop a mixtape, it’s from them. When a Kanye mixtape drops, it’s usually some DJ that throws it together with no Kanye involvement. Totally unofficial. So I wouldn’t call a Curren$y song from a mixtape “unreleased”, but I think it’s appropriate for a track like this that Kanye never put out there.

Really not that big of a deal, I just put that up there so people didn’t think it was a new Kanye song, you know?

Anything Kanye-laden is good for the Husband. How interestingly different it is from the album version…

Another similar (but probably not quite as good) track worth hearing if you’re a fan of kanye is ‘My Way’. Songs like this are so powerful because it’s ye’s signature sampling alongside his flow, just crazy.

I couldn’t decide whether i was disappointed by the lack of sampling in MBDTF or if that just shows he’s capable of so much.. but these old tracks keep me happy anyway

Typical Kanye, ha. If you listen really hard to the breaks in between Ye’s bars, there are pauses; even when he wasn’t dropping #1 albums (College Dropout was #2 I think), he still had a passion for perfection, maybe to a fault, because this song is on par if not better than the Chris Martin version (a black shout-out 2 Coldplay by the way). I just love to see people who take pride in their work?

    @jay

I thought MBDTF was lackin samples to but Ye used some pretty obscure pieces..check this link, shows all the samples used

Wow, didn’t realise that. Just goes to show the talent and the passion he has, I think if I did all that work I’d justify myself acting out all the time..

  13. Brandon Shamah says:

Glad to see this song getting love. Its long been one of my favorite Kanye songs, the beat seems to play into the lyrics way better than the Graduation version did. Good looks Confusion

  14. furrysnatch says:

you should throw up apologize or out of your mind, those were easily the best songs on that first mixtape.

  15. Midas says:

if anyone has and wants to hit me up with the dl link for that mixtape i’d be forever indebted to you
