Gold Panda – Marriage EP

I get really attached to albums some people find kind of random. My Favorite Albums of the Year are often quite a bit different than what I would list as the Best Albums of the Year.  In 2010 (and today), Gold Panda’s Lucky Shiner was my shit. Up in my personal top 5. He’s got an EP release of the album cut “Marriage,” featuring remixes from Baths, Forest Swords, Star Slingers & Halls. It’s a toss up for which is my favorite rework right now, they’re all great. We’ve got the stream below, but definitely try to grab the album, it’s wonderful. Check his US tour dates after the jump, I’ll be at his Chicago show on the 29th.

I’ve been listening to the original song and the Star Slinger remix non stop for a few days now, but I’m still not really able to get into Lucky Shiner as a whole. Some of the songs seem too much like background music to me. I can’t get fully absorbed in them.

    ^ agreed.

Been trying to get into Lucky Shiner, as well as his other stuff. Love everything and all that is Star Slinger though. I’d have to say that his Cocteau Rework was one of my top 5 songs last year. Check that out.

star slinger is great. and yeah i hear that about lucky shiner from a lot of people, all I can really say is persevere, cause I really liked it once I got into it. A lot of me initially being willing to give it a lot of spins may have been just how excited I was for the release. I was obsessed with everything Gold Panda post-Quitter’s Raga.
