Coldplay – “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”

Here’s the new single, which should appear on the upcoming fifth album from Coldplay. It’s a driving, synth-filled, sun-splashed song with layers of acoustic and electric guitars and plenty of soaring vocals. It’s a song huge enough to belittle any arena in the world.

Coldplay fans should be pleased with this one. To a non-Coldplay fan, it might blend in with the rest of the band’s catalog, or maybe get confused for a U2 cover. If you like what you hear you can order it on iTunes.

Sometimes Im like “huh? why did they even bother making that song?” this one of those times, it brings absolutely nothing worthwhile to the table.

Well, I’m guessing it’ll probably bring money to Coldplay’s table. Kidding aside, I actually generally like Coldplay, not sure about this song yet though.

I don’t know if I’m in love with this song singularly, but once heard in context of the whole project, it might grow on me. I can understand a release of a song like this though, they have Lollapalooza and Glasto upcoming, so new something to get the grounds hype never hurts?

I generally can’t stand Chris Martin or Coldplay so I wasn’t surprised that I didn’t like this track. I have always felt they were a low rent U2 and I hate Chris Martin’s attitude. I posted about this song a day or two ago and I have been surprised at how sensitive Coldplay fans are. Maybe there are subliminal messages somewhere inside those yawn inducing albums.

Boring and overrated band, can’t stand them, but that’s personal of course. The singer sounds as if he has a cold all the time. Maybe should take some more vitamins.
