Ex Cops is a new Brooklyn based project, headed up by former Hymns frontman Brian Harding, who will be self-releasing their debut EP White Women sometime in July. The EP is a collection of sometimes hazy and reminiscent, sometimes sun-kissed, but always comfortable songs that have had me playing them over and over. There is a warmth and “heard this before somewhere” feeling to all the tracks that encourages you to listen closely, but also a relaxed lo-fi attitude that allows you to enjoy the music whilst thinking about something else.
Listen to slow-burning EP opener “The Millionaire”, the more mechanical “S&HSXX” and the slightly more poppy “Spring Break (Birthday Song)” below, and then hit the jump for an arty visual accompaniment to “The Millionaire”.
Keep up with Ex Cops on their website or on Facebook.
