Jay-Z & Kanye West ft. Otis Redding – “Otis”

Jay Z & Kanye West ft. Otis Redding Otis

Flex just dropped this Watch The Throne track. Unlike the chaotic “H.A.M.,” the Kanye production on this cut has a more simple, soulful feel to it that recalls some of Ye’s earlier work. What do you think? Is Watch The Throne going to live up to the expectations?

The album will be available online on August 1st.

Update: CDQ out via Life and Times

    they blacked on this shit!

  2. Andy says:

It will definitely live up to my expectations as I don’t expect much from this. Jay-z just isn’t that good any more, and he just isn’t that great on this song either. I am looking forward to the frank ocean songs though.

  3. Jon says:

not a fan! finding it irritating that otis keeps shouting in the back when im trying to listen to the verse!

  4. Jonathan A says:

I’m feeling the song. the background’s a bit annoying, but i think it definitely trumps H.A.M.

  5. Azhar says:

Kanye’s verses are better than most of his on MBDTF which is refreshing. Jay’s on the other hand, I am not sure of yet. He’s got his “pause-flow” going on full blast, but Kanye’s seem more compelling.

The beat is interesting, although not an easy listen.

    9/10
I know it’s CDQ, but hopefully they go back and master the fuck out of it! The sample is dope, but a bit overbearing. Better than what I could do though, lol.
Jay’s verse’s will warm up to me when I get the whole project, Kanye always fells like he’s rapping to the outdoors the way his voice carries, while for Jay rapping seems (*is) so effortless and smooth that being on a track with Kanye makes him sound even more calm. A great contrast in styles, hopefully it translates to a solid PROject.

@DNLTLK you said it perfectly ^^^

  8. HDO says:

The Otis track is too loud, but I liked it, especially “write my curses in cursive.” That’s some silly shit.

  9. gerald says:
