Surprised with the Bon Iver and Skrillex nominations…I guess they’re changing it up after last year’s Arcade Fire upset…

And Kelly Rowland’s Motivation??? I love the song but don’t know if it warrants best rap/sung collab…

  2. Liz says:

I was blown away by all the Skrillex nominations, its not my fav kind of music but it says something for it getting that music recognized from the Grammys.

Kanye is against himself in Rap Album of the Year, hope that doesn’t split his votes.

  3. JJ says:

How exactly is Bon Iver a “New Artist?”

  4. Craig says:

If Nicki Minaj wins Best New Artist, I’m going to throw up

  5. SK says:

Con, you should do your own “grammies” or something and just make a post every year with the same categories as the grammies but your own nominees and winners.

  6. drunk Rabbit says:

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy should have won album of the year last year. The Grammys’ whole time table is screwed up.

  7. GR says:

How MBDTF wasn’t nominated for both rap album and album of the year is beyond me.

  8. PN says:

Imma let you finish, but My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was the best music album of ALL TIME. ALL TIME.

The Grammys are entertaining, but are in no way anywhere influential in the music industry. Their selections are most always garbage. They pick albums of the year based on their popularity and number of singles produced rather than for true artistic merit. I’d rather watch the Mercury Prize awards from Canada or something like that..

  9. Chris says:

    ummm…lasers?

  10. Antoine says:

Bon iver in this list is quite surprising. But a great news for music in general. I can see him being the first of a new wave of “good and popular artists”.

  11. larl says:

    Bruno Mars?!?!? gross

  12. Confusion says:

Right? What the fuck? Lately I’ve heard some people that are complaining that P&P doesn’t express enough hatred. It’s a weird complaint, because when we DO post things that we hate, people are like, “Well why would you post something you hate???” It’s crazy. people are crazy. Impossible to please you motherfuckers.

But I think we can all agree on Bruno Mars being a blemish on mainstream music. I don’t know how he is famous or why he wins stuff. Is it some kind of industry inside joke? Maybe.

Dude parties hard though. Goes out looking all clean cut, singing pop tunes for tha radio, then buries himself in mounds of cocaine until the next day. Jk Jk JK Omg P&P is getting reckless.

  13. CK says:

Hahahaha @Con. This list is, indeed, a fucking joke. I don’t even know where to start. Bruno Mars for Album of the Year. Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” for “Record” of the Year (Because there’s such a huge difference between this and Song of the Year). Anything Bruno Mars is nominated for. Basically every Best New Artist nominee. “The Show Goes On” for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song. Every Best Rap Album nominee that doesn’t include Kanye. The fact that MBDTF, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Loud, and Pink Friday came out in 2010 and the Grammy’s are nominating them for a 2012 awards show.
