On our wish list for music in 2012, we wished that LCD Soundsystem would get back together. When James Murphy pulled the plug, it felt like a sad moment that came too soon. Unlike most bands that suddenly stop, James Murphy did not die or start releasing shitty music. LCD Soundsystem was still, arguably, in their prime.
The upcoming documentary follows James Murphy during the days right before and right after he made the decision to retire the LCD Soundsystem project. If you’re an LCD fan, it looks like a sad film (in a nostalgic, yearning for the past kind of way, not a getting cancer or dog dying kind of way), so get some tissues.
