20 Things You Didn’t Know About Kurt Cobain

He owned fetuses

Kurt was always fascinated with anatomy. Medical references — especially about fetuses and vaginas — were often present in his lyrics and art, and he shared in one interview that he found a medical supplies store in the Mall Of America that sold all kinds of charts and books on the topic. But that wasn’t all. As Kurt described of the medical supplies store: “it’s really great, I bought all these fetuses.” He was probably referring to model fetuses like the ones he used in the collage on the back cover of In Utero. Hopefully.

The picture above shows Courtney and Frances in 1993 in front of a collage of flowers and model fetuses that Kurt put together on the living room floor. This was later used for the back cover of the album.

Can’t wait to know the secrets of Kurt! I think he is very introvert and don’t like to say much about own self so it’s very thrilling to get some clues about his personality. Though I’m too late to give wish Kurt but lots of good wishes for this mysterious guy and thanks for the exploration.

I am not even a huge Nirvana fan and I knew all this stuff. They don’t even mention that the last song Nirvana released before Kurt died was called “I Hate Myself and I Want To Die”. It was on the Beevis and Butthead compilation album.

  • Whatevs

Actually, it was You Know You’re Right. The last song they ever recorded.

  • brownman5000!!!

Why dont you kill yourself and ask Kurt yourself about these things. I think he might know. He was there.

  • agraciotti

humm…ok, but really, is there any living soul who doesn’t know about these things?

  • townshend

Frances looks terrified in the fetus picture.

She said BEFORE KURT DIED. “You Know You’re Right” wasn’t released until like 8 years after he was dead.

  • Hoho1234

What Lola said was “released” before he died, not the last song they recorded. Releasing and recording are very different things.

  • Hoho1234

You Know You’re Right was indeed the last song they recorded, but released after he died. “I Hate Myself and I Want To Die” was recorded and the last song to be released before he died.

  • Hoho1234

No. Just stop using the site.

I like Nirvana but Guns N Roses are a 100 times better than Nirvana.
