Bon Iver lights3 Bon Ivers Next Album May Take Five Years

Justin Vernon of Bon Iver has revealed in his interview with USA Today that his band’s next album may take as long as five years to flesh out. Said Vernon:

I don’t have any songs written yet. I’m guessing three years. But it could be five. It could be only one more. It just depends when the songs come about. I sort of have to wait till they reveal themselves.

Well, damn. His next LP better be mind-blowing. Let’s hope this songs “reveal themselves” soon, because some of us aren’t that patient.

I’ve heard him say in another interview that he likes to take time to let himself distill before working on a new record. I guess meaning he just likes to take a break and experience new things.

this is great news. i expect it to be dope. love when artists take their time as opposed to rushing mediocre records because they’re expected to constantly drop music.

Seriously, music is supposed to be art, it shouldn’t be super easy to just churn it out IMO.
