Last time Chris Cornell was in the news, it wasn’t for such an admirable reason, but he is on his way to redemption with this powerful acoustic take on Whitney’s “I Will Always Love You.” It took place at the Obama 2012 rally in San Francisco, and you could tell that at the beginning, attendees weren’t sure what he was going to do. He works his way into the song slowly, but when it sinks in, the crowd reacts with a mix of cheering and “aww,” which is a fitting response to this touching cover. Watch it below.
