Charles Hamilton has been back in the stratosphere for a little while now, but his return has seemed a little anticlimactic after his popularity circa-2009 and the manner in which he completely dropped off the map. New songs haven’t really seemed to take hold and that J. Cole diss track was just so unnecessary. Releasing full-length music is a good idea for him, his mixtapes were his original calling card. However, if he wants to get back to where he used to be, and that might not even a possibility at this point, he needs these mixtapes to be good.
He’s billing Coke Whore Habits as a studio project and Camera Coolant (Egyptian Circus) as a cave project. I don’t know what that means, I’m not sure it matters. I’m hoping, against all expectations, that they’re going to be awesome.
