Lupe Fiasco – “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)”

Lupe Fiasco just hit Twitter to drop the world premiere of his new single “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)”, off the forthcoming Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1. The track features a sample of Pete Rock’s, “T.R.O.Y. (They Reminisce Over You)”. Not only can you hear the new record below, but it’s also available for download via iTunes tonight at midnight. We’re all aware of the Lupe vs. Atlantic Records drama that surrounded the release of his last studio effort, Lasers, but word is that relationship is on the mend and the label is in support of this new album. Food & Liquor II hits shelves on September 25th.

UPDATE: Pete Rock is not a fan:

So he doesn’t like what exactly? The sample of his sample of cover? Or the lyrical content? Or… I don’t even know. Song is tight though.

Someone has gotten some sand in their vagina. nothing about this song is wack. But what do I know I only have good taste in music.
