Gunplay, Stalley, Wale, Meek Mill, Rick Ross & Kendrick Lamar – “Power Circle”

mmg self made 2 cover Gunplay, Stalley, Wale, Meek Mill, Rick Ross & Kendrick Lamar Power Circle

Whoa. Over some fittingly regal orchestration, the Maybach Music Group and special guest Kendrick Lamar bring us into their “Power Circle” for 8 and a half minutes (subtlety, thy name is MMG). The production isn’t groundbreaking (or quite as epic as last year’s bombastic, Just Blaze-aided “Self Made”), but does a fine job setting the table for the emcees on hand, and ambitiously scaled posse cuts have been one of MMG’s strongest suits over the last few years.

Listen below. Might take a little time to digest this one, but, at first listen, who do you think comes off the best?

If I’d written a line like “The square root of a kilo is me n***a” I would definitely not say it twice. I’d sort of mumble it under my breath and hope no one notices.

Funny that the best verse wasn’t even by an MMG member. Why did they bring in Kendrick, they shoulda known he’s gonna show all these guys up on their own song…
