Sigur Rós had their first Billboard Top 10 album with Valtari, and now one of the standout tracks has got the visual treatment as part of the band’s “Mystery Film Experiment” series. As part of this series, twelve different directors have been given a totally free rein to do whatever they want with their videos for different tracks from the new album, and the band will offer no input whatsoever. Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir (pronunciation, anyone?), who created the Valtari artwork, directed the second in the series, a slow moving but suitably grandiose view of a mountain landscape that works well as an accompaniment to the crescendoing “Varúð”.
