Passion Pit’s latest LP has some euphoric musical touches, but it’s lyrically dismal — it’s like getting smothered in laughing gas before your teeth are yanked out. Frontman Michael Angelakos takes a fairly minimalist approach to writing lyrics, catalyzing them with unbridled emotion rather than clever rhetoric.
