Fresh off the release of his Royalty mixtape, Childish Gambino stops by Tim Westwood’s show for a couple freestyles (with a little help from his phone). He goes in over Usher’s “Lemme See” and French Montana’s “Shot Caller.” Watch below.

^ look up what freestyle means
“Originally, in Old school hip hop of the 1980s, the term ‘freestyle’ referred to a pre-written rap verse that was not on any particular subject matter, but rather was written for the purpose of demonstrating skill. The term is still occasionally used in this way, though since the 1990s, the majority of today’s artists use it to mean improvised rapping.”
guess it depends…
What confuses me is dude spoke for so long about how he’s different and cursed because he’s not the typical “Black Rap Artist”, and then gets on a Harry Fraud beat and talks about bitches on the tour bus and getting checks I have never seen. My feelings on dude can be sum’d in one word. MEH
I think he is definitely different than normal rappers. He can rap about numerous topics, from partying with hot bitches to not fitting in growing up. If you listen to Camp and Royalty they are greatly different. I believe he came out with Royalty because people thought that Camp didn’t go hard enough, every rapper needs cuts for the club.
