Judging by the way things are playing out, former designer Dominic Lord is on the fast track to blowing up. The 18-year-old rapper is almost painfully in style, and he seems to have the drive to push things creatively. As with all up-and-comers, he’s still got to carve out a lane, but hopefully he does that with his forthcoming Fashion Show EP, coming out September 7.

    Wasn’t trying to say it was. I think it’s cool, but he’s blowing up for a lot of other reasons. He’s new to music, but a connected dude and he’s got the attention of some very important people. We’ll see.

    Sounds a lot like A$AP Rocky and given where he is coming from, i can see his persona and style being more successful than his music. Its incredible how fast the music industry adapts.

    Kanye came out and all of a sudden it was cool not to be a gangster.
    Kid Cudi came out and all of a sudden introspective stoner rap was everywhere.
    A$AP Rocky came out and all of a sudden every beat sounds like Clams Casino.

    That said, it seems like hip hop is progressing further and further out of the exodus from good rap that was the early 2000′s.
