As the sun slipped behind the Chicago skyline at Lollapalooza on Sunday, Jack White took the stage for a rousing set (with a seriously tight band in tow). Opening with thunderous recent single “Sixteen Saltines,” White and company packed surprises and energy to spare, mixing Jay-Z’s “PSA” with the introductory strains of “Sixteen.” The end result is, unsurprisingly, a hard rocking joy.
