Is Kanye West’s New Album “Black American Psycho” Dropping on October 23rd?

kanye west black american psycho Is Kanye Wests New Album Black American Psycho Dropping on October 23rd?

It appears that we may be getting another serious dose of G.O.O.D. Music only a month after Cruel Summer‘s release: on 10/23, Kanye West will unleash Black American Psycho. What do we know about BAP? Well, not a whole lot, but here are a few crucial details, as reported by HipHopWired:

According to the website www.blackamericanpsycho.com, which is a domain owned by Def Jam Records, Kanye will be dropping what is allegedly is sixth studio album on October 23rd, 2012. Reports are surfacing that the number of artists that flew to Hawaii last month to finish Cruel Summer were actually on the island to work on Black American Psycho and not the group’s compilation album.

The above image comes from the Black American Psycho website, which is currently just a splash page. More details to come as they’re available, but, if Kanye’s latest solo album is, indeed, slated for release next month, it looks like Kanye will have one hell of a fall to follow his cruel summer.

UPDATE: While nothing’s confirmed, this does look a bit suspicious. Upon further investigation, if you do a WHOIS search on the blackamericanpsycho.com URL, it does list Island Def Jam / Kanye West as the Registrant, but the phone number and email address are both from the UK. And as of right now, the image is either part of the “Free Assange” campaign or the site does not load at all. It looks like we just got trolled.

what about the possibilty of it being the cruel summer movie? or was that included with the CD?

Good call, Raj. At this point, it’s all speculation–so Black American Psycho could be any number of things. You’ll know as soon as we do.

i thought the Cruel Summer movie was just called Cruel Summer?

  • Sk

The cruel summer movie was shown in the spring at a movie festival anf it was just called cruel summer. It was unique because the set was inside a pyramid shaped building and there were seven screens, none attached to each other all playing different things at once. Because of the unique set I doubt that it’ll be released to the public.

This is probably a fake website. When registering a domain name you can basically write in anything for the whois search info. The e-mail attached to it is suspect. wouldnt it be something like info@defjam.com or web@defjam.com? The e-mail attached to this domain name is y33zy@hotmail.co.uk

I feel like this is probably fake.

Damn, that’s a fucked up a joke someone just pulled on us! Maybe this person leaked the information about the album without Def Jam’s approval? I’m hoping that’s the case and we are actually getting an album next month. More likely it’s all BS though.

Man, I got way too stoked to hear about a new album dropping for October. And upon checking the links posted, the website has been taken down or something. I know Cruel Summer was amazing so far, and knowing that it was only a group colab made me all the more stoked for his sixth album. Mean joke to play.

I’m almost peed my pants a little bit there. Kanye bought “R U Ready” from TNGHT, so I’m already ridiculously stoked for his solo album. Anything this year though would be nothing short of spectacular. Maybe near Christmas?…that’d be a nice gift

  • a guest but not really

hahaha the site now boasts an apology for misleading.

    Worst joke ever.

Looks like the site updated: “This website is in no way affiliated with Def Jam Records or Kanye West. The Black American Psycho title and the 10.23.2012 release date are fictitious. I created the website a while ago as part of a school project. I apologise for misleading people, I did not expect the site to generate so much traffic and be taken seriously.”
