When last we saw Chicago rapper Kami de Chukwu, he was dropping off stellar mixtape LIGHT. It appears some of the bonus tracks slipped through the cracks of the internet and Kami’s re-releasing them as singles (the glory of free storage and high speed modems). “Mob Mosh” features a beat both raucous and plodding, sounding something a John Carpenter movie crashing into a drum break. Though emcees Monster Mike and Alex Wiley serve up energetic appearances, its Kami’s intricate third verse that anchors the track and serves to further paint a portrait of a young rapper dedicated to craft and passionate performance.
