Grabbing a hazy, heavy Harry Fraud production and packing a sack lunch full of stacked syllables, Das Racist‘s Heems drops off the third single in anticipation of his upcoming mixtape Wild Water Kingdom. Layered with more references than a research paper, “Cowabunga Gnarly” is the sort track fans of come to expect from half of the cleverly sarcastic duo, though it notably lacks some of the sense of fun that makes Das Racist cuts like “Michael Jackson” worth dusting off for repeat listens.
