Good Music Crew What We Want From G.O.O.D. Musics Cruel Winter

G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer was one of the year’s most exciting hip-hop releases, but as with any superstar-studded album, the expectations were high. At times, the crew stepped up and delivered, but the album also left a few things to be desired. For all those who weren’t completely satisfied with Cruel Summer, good news: there may be a Cruel Winter in the works. Q-Tip and Pusha T all but confirmed the news, and that’s enough to put us in anticipation mode. Here are some things we really hope to see on G.O.O.D. Music’s next release.

The Morning was by far the best song on the tape, they need more songs with a lot of features from different styled artists like they did in that song
Also cmon for real we need more 2 Chainz and CyHi, they were incredible with their limited work

All the singles from the album were great tracks with the exception of “Don’t Like”, don’t even know why that song was on the album. I’m sure there was a better original product that could have been used. All in all i think the post is dead on. If the rumors are true then I suppose all GOOD Music fans will be pleased to hear “Cruel Winter” but if it isn’t, and honestly I’m still asking my self, why not have Kid Cudi or Common, Mos Def (I still prefer to call him that) and Q-Tip? Why even have them on your label. Kanye is one of my favorites but his decision making on this was a little of but I guess if the rumors are true, he will have the last laugh and we all win.

I dont understand how people can say the album was a let down. ‘The One’ has been on repeat for a week now, along with clique, creepers, and the morning. You cant say the album was a disappointment just because they released some of the best songs early. Cruel Summer was great, hopefully Cruel Winter is even better

I wouldn’t replace a cyhi da prince line for any other artists. His lyrics deserve to be heard because, in my opinion, his flow and lyricism is comparable to pusha’s in quality.

I definitely want more Common and more cohesiveness. There are so many possibilities if you throw Mos and Q-Tip into the mix as well. Features like Childish, Kendrick, and Danny would be dope, but I don’t think it will happen.

Also, If he gets Jay-Z on the album, I want the track to be bigger. Not saying it has to be seismic, but If you have The Throne on a song, I kind of expect a WTT vibe.

Not to say Clique wasn’t impressive, I’m just saying that perhaps it could have a grander scale – something other than a 2-month banger.

    Focus is key.

I feel like a GOOD music album is like a family tree. You have the core of it, which is kanye, his idea, what he envisions for the album, etc., but then several branches sprout in different directions when you bring all of these other artists to the table. Just give the branches a central focus, instead of them shooting off in random arrays – have them all pointing towards the same goal, and I feel like you’ll end up with something promising.

i’m not a Cudi fan but I agree that there should’ve been more Cudi, and i think that a “Cruel Winter” project should definitely have more Cudi on it.

this album had a lot of potential, but all the GREAT songs (with the exception of ghostface on new god flow and the morning) were released as singles. lots of other good songs, but not like mbdtf, where every song was a grand slam. very excited for cruel winter though, kanye is a master.
