Kanye West, Paul McCartney And More To Headline Hurricane Sandy Benefit Concert

The entertainment industry is relatively well known for stepping up to aid those affected by pivotal tragedies. And their involvement in helping victims of Hurricane Sandy is proving to be no different. On December 12th, Madison Square Garden will host a benefit concert for those impacted by the devastating storm.  The show, appropriately titled “12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief,” will feature performances by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, The Who, Billy Joel and Kanye West, just to name a few. Ticket information and additional artists will be announced over the next few days.

Sorry if it sounds cynical, but do we really need a benefit concert? Why don’t they use that time and money to help rebuild damaged areas?

People know the hurricane happened so it’s not like we need to raise awareness, and if it’s about celebrities getting the word out, they can ask for people to donate on Twitter.
