kendrick lead Kendrick Lamar Freestyle Videos From Every Year Since 2008

When Kendrick Lamar released Section.80 in 2011, everything clicked. He wasn’t yet a star, but he was ready. While a lot of people are just now getting familiar with Kendrick thanks to the excellent good kid m.A.A.D. city, he’s been working towards this point for years. For years, he’s been mastering his craft and putting in work with TDE, and he’s gone from a background member to an internet sensation to the guy that a lot of people are pointing to as the most important rapper to come around in a long time.

Top Dawg Entertainment signed Kendrick after they heard his 2003 mixtape Youngest Head Nigga In Charge. Back then he was going by K Dot, and although he showed signs of potential, he hadn’t yet come into his own as the force he is today. To see evidence of the evolution of Kendrick Lamar, watch these videos of the Compton representative freestyling over the years.
