Why André 3000 Won’t Be on the New Big Boi Album

Some of you may be wondering as to why André 3000 won’t be appearing on Big Boi’s forthcoming sophomore album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. It’s definitely strange, considering all the success that him and Big Boi had together as OutKast. Well, Big Boi cleared the air a little, and it has to do with that André’s involvement with Gillette. Apparently, Big Boi had given Three Stacks the opportunity: “[André 3000] could’ve been on any song he wanted to. I gave the motherfucker about 5 songs, but I guess he was just too busy. He said he had to do some Gillette shit. No for real. He said he had some contractual obligations.”

As for the possibility of an OutKast reunion, Big Boi recently spoke on it in an interview with Hot 97 and… well, no clear answer is given. But Big Boi seems to be down: “If Dre’s () ready to do it and I’m not on tour all around the world, let’s go. Fo’ sho.”

So there’s that, OutKast fans. For now, put on some old OutKast albums, and check out that Gillette commercial that André 3000 is in, alongside Gael Garcia Bernal and Adrien Brody, below.
