Day Joy – “Purple”

Day Joy Day Joy Purple

When someone says “Orlando, Florida,” my brain immediately goes to Disney World and old people in revealing swim suits. I’m Canadian, so my knowledge of Orlando is kind of limited. Having said that, I was still surprised when I heard Orlando-based band Day Joy‘s latest track, “Purple.”

At its core, “Purple” is a indie folk song (oh, so Florida isn’t just about fist-pumping? I don’t know.), but the five-piece band makes it so much more than that. The acoustic guitar at the beginning of the track grows into something that takes hold of you, exciting you while putting you at ease, making it the perfect accompaniment to your Sunday night. “Purple” will appear on Go To Sleep, Mess, due February 12th. Listen to “Purple” below.
