D’Angelo returned to the stage last night, gracing Brooklyn Bowl with his delicious presence, appearing alongside Questlove for what seems to be a one-off show to gain attention for the release of his forthcoming album, which has a working title of James River and is hinted to come out this year. Although not many details are available on the project, Questlove told Rolling Stone earlier this year that it is “99% done” and “totally brilliant.”

Watch the video below of the pair covering Prince‘s “New Position,” and another lengthy clip from the show below, and check out the diverse set list. Look for updates on D’Angelo’s return, it feels imminent now.
