Snoop Lion ft. Drake & Cori B. – “No Guns Allowed”

snoop lion Snoop Lion ft. Drake & Cori B. No Guns Allowed

Snoop Dogg/Lion has come a long way. Back in ’93, when the Cali rapper was recording his debut album Doggystyle, Snoop was charged with murder. He’s had multiple run-ins with the law due to possession of firearms, but here we are in 2013, and the 41-year-old rapper is on a song with his daughter Cori B. and Drake. And it’s a reggae song. And his name is Snoop Lion. And it’s a song of peace, non-violence, and no guns allowed.

A lot of people are questioning the authenticity of Snoop’s transformation, but the real transformation here goes deeper than a name a musical style, and with all the negativity in the world, is that really a bad thing?

Production by Major Lazer and Ariel Rechtshaid with additional production by Dre Skull.

Chance the Rapper used this sample on “Long Time” last year. This production is more polished, but I prefer Chance’s personal lyrics.
