Vampire Weekend are back with two new singles. Shortly after performing the tracks “Step” and “Diane Young” live at SXSW, last week, the band has officially released the two singles. The New York band also revealed their new album’s title, sticking with their macabre motif, the album will be called Modern Vampires of the City.
“Diane Young” is the first official song, and it features driving piano riffs alongside drum and guitar breakdowns, a bit more fast-paced and frenetic for the group, whose past singles mostly loped along. “Step” on the other hand, falls more into the band’s previous scope, meandering a bit among midi notes and introspective lyrics. Look for the album out on May 7 and stream both of the songs below.
