There’s something truly special about songs that, despite their seemingly simplistic composition, still manage to trigger a rather complex response. Perhaps it’s because at times when the influx of emotions are so overwhelming that we don’t even know where to begin, a song can enter and speak volumes by using just a few simple chords, minimal percussion and delicate vocals. Airhead’s “Autumn” beautifully captures this feeling.
Airhead is the stage name of Rob McAndrews, UK producer and old friend/frequent collaborator to James Blake. Though he previously had a few singles attached to his name, he’s now gearing up for his first proper release with his debut LP, For Years. The album, which will feature Blake, is due out this coming June via R&S Records. The gorgeously emotive “Autumn” is the first single off the upcoming record and you can drift away with it below.
