Daft Punk & Pharrell Preview “Get Lucky”

Daft Punk isn’t an act that needs to hype up a new release. They could sit back and quietly announce a project and people would be excited.

That’s not the route they’ve chosen.

Instead, Daft Punk is rolling out details of the album piece by piece, teasing fans in the best way possible and making this album feel like one of the most important releases of the year. The up-and-coming electronic acts may have embraced new media and strategy to get big fast, but Daft Punk is proving that once you earn respect, relevance comes easy. Tonight we got another preview of the project with this clip of the Pharrell-assisted “Get Lucky” during Saturday Night Live. Watch above.

Ugh so fucking good. Can they seriously do anything wrong? Random Access Memories is going to be one of the best albums of 2013 easily. Literally might have to make a countdown to May 21st now.

What a smart way to market … by teasing fans about many aspects of the album. Thanks for mentioning that. Many lessons to be learned from these guys for independent artists.
