Emily Reo – “Peach”

emilyreo Emily Reo “Peach”

According to Stereogum, Emily Reo’s been releasing music for years, but her new songs are her first that were recorded in a studio. Does bedroom pop really sound better if it’s recorded in a bedroom? Not necessarily. It’s a lovely idea, though—a nice story that you can tell as you share a song, so listeners can imagine something truly personal and authentic, something DIY. In reality, though, songs like “Peach” can keep the intimate lullaby-like nature of bedroom pop but provide the kind of balance, control, and focus that the studio offers. This one’s a beautiful little slice of summery euphoria. Listen/download below.

Possibly.
