There’s been a bit of controversy over Kid Cudi‘s recent split with Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D. Music, so the rapper cleared the air in a recent interview with L.A. Leakers. Cudi spoke about the meeting he had with Kanye, revealing the news about his decision. Kanye, despite his usual “excitable” reputation, seemed to respond favorably: “Yes! Do whatever you feels right, I don’t blame you. I feel you on that.”
‘Ye’s response seems appropriate, especially after hearing Cudi speak about his relationship with Kanye:
[Kanye] believes in me, man. ‘Man, you the only one that’s doing some authentic sh*t,’ he sits there and he tells me. He gives me all these props and I don’t even know how to consume it all sometimes. It’s really overwhelming because I just think he’s so great. He just believes in me in such a freakish way that maybe he might not feel like he needs to be on a song with me or give me beats… It’s a cool thing to know that the Jedi Master — the Obi-Wan Kenobi — tells me, ‘You’re alright, you’re doing good.’
Watch Cudder talk about Kanye, leaving G.O.O.D. Music, and his disconnect with Cruel Summer above, and him working with Kendrick Lamar on “Solo Dolo Pt. II” below.
