Pure Bathing Culture – “Pendulum”

PURE Pure Bathing Culture Pendulum
Pure Bathing Culture is a Portland-based group composed of Sarah Versprille and Daniel Hindman. They were originally working together in Brooklyn and touring with the Sub Pop signee Vetiver, another introspective, incredible folk group—but the two decided to split off from the group and moved to the west coast. It sounds like the Northwest air got into their systems a little bit, as their initial offering, the Pure Bathing Culture EP is fresh and expansive.

“Pendulum” is the first single from their first full-length record and it premiered today on Gorilla Vs Bear. Entitled Moon Tides, the album will be out August 20 through Partisan Records. Versprille’s harmonies appear in all the right ways, complemented by the duo’s inventive synth and guitar work, the two instruments entwine until it’s hard to tell which is which. Citing Richard Swift’s production as a key part in their sound, this song exemplifies that more than ever before, perhaps, as the mix and match of all the elements melds into one elegant and polished sound. Stream the track below and look for more from them this summer.
