Robin Thicke Covers Icona Pop’s “I Love It”

Perhaps only Robin Thicke could take Icona Pop’s infectious, fiery “I Love It” and make it a little adult contemporary and a little creepy. Performing the track for the British Radio 1 Live Lounge, he casually flips the lyric to ”I’m from the ’70s/but you’re a ’90s chick.” Will this reworking of the original lyric once again raise eyebrows? Because that’s uhh… a pretty big age gap. Somehow the song becomes a loungey, smooth jazz track under Thicke’s direction. Watch the cover above and look for his new album Blurred Lines out on July 30. Still waiting to hear from Icona Pop and the song’s author, Charli XCX for reactions.

“make it a little adult contemporary and a little creepy”

well isn’t the original just her singing back to an older guy? what’s your point?

There original lyrics have the same age difference it’s just from the perspective of the 90′s chick.. so just because Robin Thicke sings it from the guy’s perspective it’s creepy?
