The Coolest Covers of 2013 So Far

Rarely is a cover better than the original, but the interpretation is always a lesson into the human heart behind the reworking. Where some songs were meant to be sad refrains, they became dance-heavy grindfests. Most others are made into dark ditties starkly contrasting the song from whence it came.

Cover songs are either tenuous memorials to musicians loved and lost or hashtag-happy ways for modern day names to bandwagon on the success of the itchy, probably poppy it-person of the summer, but either way, they are pretty fun to listen to and judge.

After careful judging, we tapped and uncorked the Best Covers of 2013 (So Far) for your discerning ear to deem worthy or dismiss as the dregs of the music barrel.
