Watch Lupe Fiasco’s Ambitious 13-Minute Music Video

Lupe Fiasco, never a man to mince his words or hide his political views, has just shared a 13-minute long video which deals with issues of consumerism, race relations, violence, and a whole host of other big issues. The visually arresting, incredibly crisp clip was directed by Alex Nazari and features the songs “Lamborghini Angels,” “ITAL (Roses),” and “Audubon Ballroom”  from last year’s Food and Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1.

I like Lupe, but it’s kinda hard to do conscious stuff these days without it coming off as trying too hard to “wake up the people.”

Lupe tries too hard, his views aren’t anything groundbreaking, he doesnt offer any new insight, his music is extremely bland, it just seems like he only does stuff like this because he wants attention to himself, not the actual social issues

@ zombie zamboni, you are really dumb to say that an artist is trying to hard to make art, you philistine! Creativity is supposed to be difficult and you’re supposed to try really hard. Go read a book, you idiot.

He is trying hard but I see it as a good thing *shrug*

I agree is music is nothing special but he’s an intellectual and an artist so I’m pretty sure he makes music/videos to satisfy an internal creative drive not to attention whore. Besides he’s been more famous for his twitter than his music lately and that’s been private for a while.
