Big Sean ft. Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica – “Control (HOF)”

Big Sean dropped a seven minute long “straight rap” track tonight via Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97. Sean claimed it didn’t make the cut for his album because of the extensive No I.D. sample, but that it’s a bonus off his forthcoming album Hall of Fame which is out in just over two weeks, on August 27.

Titled “Control (Hof)” the track features a fiery, snarling Kendrick Lamar and Roc Nation’s Jay Electronica. Kendrick really steals the show on this one, name-checking practically all the greats and delivering the stand-out line “Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you.” Listen below and check out what Sean had to say about the track via Twitter.

The fact that Flex didn’t drop a bomb when Kendrick said to is gonna bother me for the rest of the night.

Anyway, I hope the dirty version gets released. This whole thing was nice.

All 3 snapped. It really highlights all of their individual styles n finally got Jay E to come out of the hole he was hiding in.

Drake’s 5AM in Toronto (any verse) > Kendricks verse on Control

    LOL YOU CLOWN GTFO

  • Justice Taylor

That Kendrick verse was lame as shit, tbh. and if you don’t think so compare that shit to his first verse on Dump’n, then take a seat. Stannin strong as shit. lol. And 5AM in Toronto = Dump’n.

WOW. Kendrick murdered this. I think he basically just woke New York up with the challenge. Good move and thanks cuz I love NY rap and it would be awesome to have it back!

All three of them killed it by letting their own styles shine. Not surprised Kendrick’s is getting a rise out of people. That was the goal. Dirty version please tho!

  • TheBrazilionaire

You’re absolutely right. The sheeple are just reacting out of shock because of his intensity, but as far as technique that verse was weak.

  • Kendall Walls

I hope you’re a troll… drake is softer than an air mattress and some plush pillows =.= I’ll admit Kendrick’s verse only blew up like it did because he had the balls to name drop like that but it was still a solid verse.

  • Kendall Walls

I feel bad for Jay… how do you attempt to follow a verse like that lol
