Stream Eddie Gomez’ Debut EP, “No”

With his debut EP, singer/songwriter Eddie Gomez has a pretty simple goal: “I wanted to showcase my abilities as a writer and I wanted each song to make a statement.”

For Eddie, a Portland guy now living in Los Angeles, simple is better. On his Facebook page he cites Lauryn Hill, Adele, Amy Winehouse, John Legend, and Drake as influences, and you can hear that polished, mainstream sound on his debut EP, but he also takes pride in the fact that he’s independent (at least for now.) ”One of the advantages of releasing independent music is that I can make the music that I want to make, no one is telling me what to do.”

It’s this balance of an accessible product with a simple goal and independent mindset that makes Eddie’s No EP what it is. We heard it clearly on the first single, “Someday,” which features the bluesy stomp of The Black Keys blended with a little less noise—it’s slightly more polite, but that’s what makes Eddie capable of more than just dusty, gritty, bluesy rock. On this EP and you’ll hear the range of his capabilities, from soaring pop to stripped down rock and a few surprises along the way.

Listen below, and download No on iTunes.

Eddie will be donating 100% of the sales of his EP from it’s release date through the month of October (National Bullying Awareness Month) to the PACER Center. See the donation page here, and watch a video from Eddie speaking on why he’s choosing to donate to the PACER Center below.
