The Power of Parenthood: Songs Written For Rappers’ Own Children

Brace yourselves: shit's about to get real sensitive. The moment that a new parent welcomes their child into the world is a very special one. Many things act as inspiration for rappers, but some of the realest, most touching songs you'll come across are the ones that were inspired by their newborn children. Humbled and in awe of their progeny, here are some of the best songs rappers have written about their own children.

Note: this feature was created for somewhat selfish purposes. It's my papa's birthday this week, and while he will probably hate 80% of these songs, I just wanted to take the time to say thanks for being a great role model (even though you didn't write a rap song for me—please get on that). Happy birthday, Papa.
