Coasts announced a new video today for “Stay,” the plucky Brit-pop single included on their upcoming EP. It’s a myriad of rack focus and perfect bone structure, centered around a couple: the two girls put on makeup, kiss, look forlorn, and repeat the cycle. I hope that doesn’t sound like a put-down—it’s actually a pretty interesting study of light and human interaction, with much of the movement and drama coming from little more than loaded glances and subtle turns of the head.
Coasts seems primed to burst out from their English incubation and into the wide wide world. They just got founding member Ben Street back from a compressed neck fracture and are spending October touring England before the EP is released in early 2014.
