All the talk about Miley Cyrus is tiring—people hating on her, people defending her, and people getting worked up about the historical context of her every move and what it means for pop culture, race, biology, global warming, whatever. When it comes down to it, the music is just bad. It's mindless, basic, derivative pop, plain and simple. All the talk about Miley just has us even more mad that such bad music is getting so much attention, but then Paul McCartney stepped in and so eloquently put things into perspective.
