Watch Eminem, Arcade Fire, & M.I.A. Perform at the First Ever YouTube Music Awards

Tonight, Pier 36 in New York hosted the first ever YouTube Music Awards, hosted by Reggie Watts and Jason Schwartzman, with creative direction be Spike Jonze (music videos for Jay Z & Kanye West, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem and many more). There were performances on the night from Arcade Fire, Tyler The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt, Lady Gaga, M.I.A., Eminem, and some weird women playing violin and dancing around to a horrible dubstep.

Watch Arcade Fire perform “Afterlife” above, and M.I.A., a very emotionally intense Lady Gaga and Eminem’s performances below.

UPDATE: Watch Arcade Fire’s Win Butler reenact Kanye’s famous Taylor Swift VMA interruption, and Tyler The Creator & Earl Sweatshirt’s performance of “Sasquatch.”

M.I.A. – “Come Walk With Me”

Lady Gaga – “Dope”

Eminem – “Rap God”

Tyler The Creator & Earl Sweatshirt – “Sasquatch”

I liked the YTMAs for the most part but that show was the most disorganized and trying-too-hard-to-be-non-traditional thing I’ve ever seen.
